A sold out house enjoyed a great evening of Christmas music from all
3 bands.
The Training Band accompanied carols for audience participation as
well as performing some well known Christmas pieces.
The B Band were joined by trumpet and cornet players from the A Band
to finish their programme with O Du Fröhliche and the audience once again enjoyed Scottie's antics
as he provided prompts for the 12 Days of Christmas. Troika played
by the A Band provided a very fitting encore to what was a very
enjoyable evening for both players and audience.
All band members were out in force during December playing carols in
many venues. The weather was very changeable and several carol
books had to be dried on radiators at the end of some sessions. We
went to Moors Valley, Hamworthy Social Club, Castle Point, the Free
Masons in Branksome, a works do in Chandlers Ford, All Saints
Church, Southborne, Tuckton Free Church, Hillside School, Stewarts
Garden Centre, Morrisons, Verwood, Andrews the Butchers, Woodlands
Methodist Church, The Town Carol service at the Verwood Hub, Haskins
in Ferndown, The Verwood Christmas Extravaganza, The Verwood Day
Centre, and Luscombe Valley Railway in Canford Cliffs.
During these jobs we collected money not only for band funds but
also for our chosen charity which is the Dorset and Somerset Air
Ambulance. A cheque will be presented to them in the near future.
