After a half hour stop for a cuppa and some very calorific treats, the group set off again in the minibus to arrive at Rye college by 1.30pm.
The Ensemble performed on its own and also with the Wurlitzer, played brilliantly by Michael Wooldridge. It was a scorching afternoon and the green jackets didn't stay on for too long. Thanks were given to our star driver, Richard Mullins, who not only organised the bus but gave up his entire day to drive everybody there not to mention all the gear he shifted as well!
Well done Sophie for a great solo, playing Cherry Pink accompanied by the Wurlitzer, which she only had chance to run through once - very professionally executed.
The ensemble didn't get back to the Band Hall until after 10pm having driven through torrential rain and a thunderstorm. Everyone was cream crackered but it was a good day.
