An exciting programme of music meant a very happy audience
and a free concert to all the surrounding houses as it was too hot to close the
doors.
The A Band played the opening march in full band attire but asked
the audience's permission to shed their jackets for the remainder of the
concert.
The Theme from Schindler's list featured Naomi Hewin playing
her first cornet solo for Verwood A and she proved to be a star in the making.
The Training Band gave a polished performance and did an
excellent job of Passacaglia from Suite Galante 1 by Stuart Johnson.
The B Band set was very well received and the audience
tapped their feet with enthusiasm, particularly to one of our very old
Eurovision winners, Boom Bang-a-Bang!
Despite the soaring temperatures the audience still demanded
an encore. The Lincolnshire Poacher
seemed to fit the bill.
